Help with Microsoft C++ visual library runtime error?

I ahve just recently installed Star Wars republic Commando on my new PC and have recieved a Microsoft C++ visual library runtime error whn i press play and afterwards my mouse just shows the disk loading symbol and doesn't go away until I log off and log back un again. I have alos reinstalled it several times and still the same issue.





I'm running a Core 2 Duo E8400 processor and Nvidia 8800GT 512MB if that helps. Oh and my HDDs drives are two raptors in RAID 0

And when I click okay, it'll just pop back up! What do I do1?!? Like, it just pops up right when I turn on my computer!!

To do System Restore:


a. Click on Start


b. Click on All Programs


c. Click on Accessories


d. Click on System Tools


e. Click on System Restore


f. System Restore will open


g. Click on Restore your computer to an earlier time


h. Click on Next


i. Try to choose a date last week or days ago that you are not having this problem.


g. Just follow the prompts, Click on Next


NOTE: The computer will logoff just let the computer do the restore

a. Check first the version

Click About Internet Explorer





If you are using IE7 or version 7


a. Close IE


b. Click on Start


c. Click on Control Panel


d. Open Network and Internet Connections


e. Open Internet Options


NOTE: If Network and Internet Connections is separated just try to look for Internet Options


f. At Internet Options


Click on Advanced on the upper right


Click on Reset at the bottom portion

Under General Tab Delete Files, Delete Cookies

It looks to be a problem with the windows explorer. The reasons it could be happening is that there might be a program that is changing the extension to the windows explorer. Such as adding new menu items for a application or even a small change. In short you can look at if you have installed any new applications and if they have changed some routines. Another problem could be malware or other adware programs such as these that have been recently installed.

This is usually a problem caused by having Hotbar installed on your pc. Go to Start Programs , Control Panel, Add/remove programs and remove hot bar if you have it installed. After uninstall open your browser again and see if the error is still present.








If you dont have Hot bar on your machine and still getting the error, I recomment going to this link and running this spyroot sweeper after downloading it.





This error is usually caused by some malware. Check your add/remove to remove any unwanted programs (like mywebsearch, even sharewares like kazaa, bearshare limewire can cause this).

Ummm.. I think you mean that you want to start using console graphics. In C and C++, these are implemented in non-ANSI standard libraries that are usually platform dependant. A good way to learn about libraries, there uses and drawbacks is to start experimenting with them, as you intend. The URL below has many links to tutorials, compilers and libraries; all of it free to download. You should find specific documentation with each library. Also, remember that each library may have specific dependencies. I hope this helps you learn about libraries and graphics.
Reply:There's no method for graphics in C++ itself. Any graphics library is an API available in C++. Look at OpenGL and DirectX (specifically Direct3D).

You have a corrupted file just do a "Windows Repair" using your Install disk and I think this will fix it for you. Hope this helps.

I am a novice and I want to know a good easy C++ image processing library to use. I am going to work with PNG and JPG, and dont really know how an image processing library will work with libpng and libjpg, but I am hoping I dont have to worry about that. I want something that will handle compositing and alpha channels in PNG with easy functions. Is imagemagick the answer...?

Well, it depends on what you're planning to do. I've done some direct pixel access work (simple convolution filters) and I worked with my own routines (for Windows bitmaps) and also with the Allegro (a game programming library, more info at http://alleg.sourceforge.net ), but didn't work with PNGs nor JPGs.





Sometime ago I found about DevIL (formerly OpenIL) and I guess (I've been told so) it's a good option for image manipulation, though I 'm not really sure if this is what you're looking for. You can find more information about this library at: http://openil.sourceforge.net/

I'm ussing C++ visual studio 2005, and programming in console mode using the standerd (ANSI) library. Is there a state ment that is opposite to '\n' or std std::endl that moves the curser up. What i want to do is dertermine how many scharchters there are in a string and using the '\b' and go over them with a blank string, thus clearing the screen. If there is a better way of doing this please help?

Is there a library header file i can download for C++, that will give me KeyHandling procedures.?

I want to ba able to detect key presses during runtime without the stoping the flow of execution. For e.g. "std::cout", waits for the user's input, and then the user has to press enter to register their input. I know that the standerd ANSI C++ library doesn't support the features what i'm looking for. Is it possible to download an external libarry with keyhandling procedures. If you know of any, please let me know. Also when adding external libraries to your sorce code, is it ok to just add the header file #include%26lt;somthing%26gt; or do u have to change some of the linker settings. I'm using visual C++ 2005 express edition if thats any help.

Actually, it is all built into existing libraries you already have.





Do a search in the help section of your tool for "_kbhit". It will give you a code snippet so that you can see how it works. You have to set up your own polling mechanism to wait for a keystroke but you can do a lot of other processing and then periodically check for a keystroke. It uses %26lt;conio.h%26gt;.





Alternatively if you are doing "forms" programing then you will want to use a keyboard control. You can read all about it in the help section. I did not spend much time looking but I'm sure you can find a code snippet there too.

Start with looking up for information about calls like socket or bind or send/recv for your platform. For Windows, you should be having MSDN installed. For Linux, you must have relevant developer man pages installed. I hope it is the same for other Unix variants as well.
